Why Greenwall UK

Proven in Europe.
Now available in the UK.

Greenwall UK is the exclusive UK distributor of Greenwall™ acoustic barrier systems. We bring more than 20 years of European product experience to British highways, rail, development and industrial projects, combining established acoustic engineering with UK-led specification, project development and delivery support. The result is infrastructure that reduces noise, integrates with the landscape and has the potential to create wider environmental value.

01

Engineered noise control

Purpose-designed acoustic barriers for demanding road, rail, development and industrial settings, specified to the needs of each site.

02

A better boundary

Living planting replaces the visual impact of a blank concrete or timber wall and helps infrastructure become part of the landscape.

03

More environmental value

Depending on the product, Greenwall can store biogenic carbon, support planting and biodiversity, or reuse suitable site-won material.

04

One system, more outcomes

Noise mitigation, screening and environmental objectives can be considered within the same infrastructure footprint—subject to project design and verification.

European experience

Greenwall in practice.

Established European projects show how living acoustic infrastructure can respond to transport noise, constrained sites and nature-inclusive development.

650 metres of living noise barrier for HOV Katwijk

Nearly 650 linear metres of Greenwall are being installed beside the new HOV/R-net bus corridor connecting Leiden and Katwijk. Delivered in collaboration with main contractor Boskalis, the planted barrier combines traffic-noise mitigation with landscape integration and habitat potential.

Nature-inclusive development at Park Vijfsluizen

For Heijmans’ 400-home Park Vijfsluizen development, Greenwall provides a space-efficient acoustic response to nearby road, rail and port activity. Site-won soil was used within the barrier, helping limit off-site transport while the planted finish supports the project’s nature-inclusive ambitions.

Inside Greenwall Classic

The greenery is what you see.
The engineering is what works.

A prefabricated, tapered acoustic barrier—wider at the base, narrower at the top—with a hempcrete (hemp-lime) core and living planting. Classic is our lead product for the potential to store biogenic carbon within the barrier.

Greenwall Flow

The boundaries around tomorrow’s developments may need to do more than reduce noise.

1 in 9new homes built between 2022 and 2024 are already in areas of medium or high flood risk.
1 in 7could be at medium or high flood risk by 2050.
30%of new homes built in 2024 could face some level of flood risk by 2050.

Greenwall Flow is being developed as a Hydro Break—a living acoustic barrier designed to interrupt, slow and redirect surface-water flow, reducing the speed and volume of water reaching homes and infrastructure. It combines noise mitigation, living planting and surface-water resilience within one physical asset.

Figures: Aviva analysis for England, published 18 February 2026. Read the Aviva release.

Development status: Greenwall Flow is a surface-water management concept, not a river-retaining wall or main river defence. Any future application will require hydraulic and structural assessment, site-specific design, testing, certification and regulatory approval.
